Usually I use La Riche: Directions semi-haircolour.
I used to use Stargazer before, but think Directions colours turns out more even.
To get the pastel colour I usually buy the most pigmented colour and blend it with my conditioner (example: Flamingo Pink, a tiny dash of Violet + conditioner gives pastel pink).
Why? Because it’s cheaper than to buy an already pastel pink.
I only wash my hair once a week, and when I do I add a small amount of colour to my conditioner to maintain it.
There is only ONE Directions semi-haircolour I really hate, and it’s Bright Daffodil.
It washes out with EVERY wash from a great bright yellow, to half it’s nuance.
The pigment are not good enough. It puts shame on the Directions name.
I love the colour, but it ruins me, and it makes me seriously annoyed…
I can’t really say exactly what colour is used for what hair beneith because I always just blend in my hand as I’m in the shower. But I know sort of…
White and grey hair
Violet (variously small amount)
Blue
Lagoon Blue
Violet
(or Turquoise and a larger amount of Violet)
Turquoise
Turquoise
Pink
Flamingo Pink
Violet
Purple
Violet
(sometimes with Flamingo Pink added)
Yellow
Bright Daffodil - it washes out too easily :(
Green
Spring Green
Black
Ebony
